A listed or preservation-worthy property
The first question is rarely what you want. It is what you are allowed. Listing and preservation status are two different things with two different authorities behind them, and the difference decides whether a change is a conversation with the municipality or with the Danish Agency for Culture and Palaces.
How we work on this
We settle the status and the register before anything is drawn. From there the authority work is part of the design rather than a final step — which is how you avoid spending six months on a proposal that could never have been approved. Our heritage studies are the same method applied to public buildings: the building archive, primary sources, and a reading of what has actually changed over time.
This is where the project is decided
- Whether the property is listed or preservation-worthy — and which register says so
- What may specifically be changed outside, and what is free inside
- Whether the project needs a dispensation, and how long that realistically takes
- What is original, and what is a later addition that can go
Before there is anything to pay for
Before you commit
- Report
The free property report. Facts about the property — history, status, local plan and building rights — with no site visit and no charge.
- Conversation
We write down what you actually want. The report is the ground; your wishes are what shape the project.
- Offer
A fixed price on each stage. The price depends on the project, so it is worked out for yours — it is not taken from a list.
- Agreement
Only once the offer is accepted and the agreement signed does the work begin.
After the agreement: the path, stage by stage
Here the authority work is part of the design, not a final step. The earlier the preservation status is settled, the fewer dead ends. For this kind of project we start with survey and registration. Each stage is its own fixed-price agreement, so you can stop or extend as you go, and each has its own page.
